At the tender age of four, I was told I could draw considerably better than my friends, not realising at the time what my future had in store.

I attended a very ordinary school, and the only subject that floated my boat, 'twas Art, and I scored myself a GCSE 'O' Level in art, A*. But for years I did nothing about it, until I was 32, when I attended college, completed an Art & Design foundation course, and bagged myself a ' Distinction' followed by a year out and then onwards and upwards and off to university, where I studied Fine Art ( Bachelor of Arts ) and yes, here it comes, I walked away with a high 2:1!

So now, still extremely passionate about art. My specialisms are painting and drawing, and portraiture are a huge part of that. I've recently been looking at Hyper realism, it absolutely fascinates me how an artist can take a photo and enlarge it by a 100, and reproduce an image that is identical to the other, wow! So I guess my endeavour is to be like many of the great artists that are out there.

Why did you join 30dac?

My reasons for joining 30dac, we're totally by accident, thanks to Meadow Moniz! But it was one of my most prolific accidents. What a journey through November 2013, a piece of artwork everyday, and at times it certainly was a challenge. The inter-action with the fellow artists has been an absolute buzz, what a diverse bunch if talented people they are. It was and is still an amazing experience, so may I raise a glass, whether it be a freshly squeezed orange juice or a fine glass of champagne, and here's to the future to old and new members!

Whatever it is you want to do, give it away in service to your community. If you want to paint, don't wait for a grant, paint a wall in your community, you never know who will see it. Go to hospitals, mental institutions, retirement homes.
