What lead you to becoming a tattoo artist? I went to school for illustration and my professors wanted us to be well rounded in every medium so I took oil painting classes, acrylics, digital illustration, sculpture. I did every kind of art you can think of and I thought in order for me to be well rounded, why not tattooing, it’s just another medium. It’s a funny story that I say that, I got my apprenticeship at West End Tattoo and the owner was like why do you want to be a tattoo artist? I said I go to SCAD and I’m a pretty good artist and tattooing is just anoth- er medium. He looked at me like “Oh, just another medium huh?” I think he thought “I’ll show you. Just another medium, it’s more than that” so I became an apprentice. So that’s how I got started (laughs) 49
