What advice would you give to someone who ’ s interested in becoming an artist ? Go old school . If you go to a tattoo school you ’ re not going to get any respect in this industry whatsoever . That ’ s so frowned upon , people are taking a stand against them . Just learn , sketch , try to be a sponge and learn as much as you can . You should do at least two years of apprenticing before you ’ re a tattoo artist . I see too many people doing it for like six month then all of a sudden they ’ re tattoo artists . They ’ re tattooing all their friends ; now they ’ re a tattoo artist . I have a buddy of mine who ’ s doing it right now . He ’ s worked for the government since high school and he ’ s getting ready to retire . So after work he ’ s spending all of his time at the tattoo shop apprenticing ; old school . He ’ s been doing it for over a year now and he ’ s just starting to tattoo people . It ’ s still kind of quick but
