You have a degree in radio broadcasting and TV. What lead you into that
direction?
I had always deejayed. I had done an apprenticeship with Dennis Wat-
kins at Tattoo Charlie’s (Baltimore, MD) and was deejaying. I was work-
ing as a private detective undercover and got injured on the job. I had to
be retrained. I was like, I want to go to broadcasting school. So they paid
for me to go to broadcasting school. I came out of there with a morn-
ing show. Within thirty days the biggest radio station in Baltimore mar-
ket hired me. I just started working with them and stayed with them for
years. Then I went to Westwood One at started doing news and traffic.
While I was at 98 Rocks, that’s when I started doing the tattoo conven-
tions. That’s one of the reasons why I went to Westwood One. Things
started picking up and I couldn’t work full-time radio. So I started part-
time doing news and traffic. I won Best of Baltimore. I won awards for
news and traffic stuff. I was still doing this too. Now I just do this full-time
along with consultations and stuff like that.
