and I think line work is a must , always is . I ’ m not against realism or anything that doesn ’ t have an outline but the client is paying a lot of money . You should tell them in about 10 years some of this might fall out and if it was built up with color in one area it might not be there anymore . You might start losing elements of the object versus you might lose some color but the outline is still there . So I just really love traditional fundamentals but I like more of an illustrative style .
What would you say is the most important or most meaningful tattoos you have ever done ? Wow , saved the best for last ( laughs ). That ’ s a rough one . Ok , I gave my mom her very first tattoo . I ’ ve done a lot of meaningful tattoos on people , that ’ s why this is so hard . I did a memorial piece on a guy who lost his girlfriend . I ’ ve done a lot of tattoos that touched me personally but for me , my mom was the most meaningful . She got a little locket on her ankle with mine and my brother ’ s initials J & J and it was the most meaningful because I tattooed my mom and I never thought she would get a tattoo . Probably her last one , so it really touched my heart for me to do that .
