Amy Shumate
Amy brings 13 years US tax experience to her role as Director in the US Corporate Tax
Advisory practice. Amy assists her Canadian clients and their affiliates with their U.S
federal and state corporate income, franchise, sales, and use tax issues from a unique
cross-border perspective. She has worked with all sizes of both public and private
corporations in all types of industries in helping them manage their US federal and state
tax compliance and consulting needs.
Prior to joining Trowbridge in early 2014, Amy worked for two of the Big 4 firms beginning
in 2001 where she helped clients with US corporate tax compliance, federal and state tax
consulting, due diligence work, structuring, and controversy. Amy has a B.A. and M.B.A.
from McMaster University and an MSc (Tax) from Golden Gate University in
San Francisco. She is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant registered in Ontario and a Certified Public Accountant registered in Illinois.
