Anderson Ranch’s Patton Printmaking Studio is fully equipped and impeccably clean, with tools and supplies organized and within reach—ready to facilitate your artistic vision. The studio houses one lithography press and three intaglio presses. Our Printmaking team fosters a supportive studio atmosphere where artists have the freedom to experiment, take risks, and try new techniques. Summer 2019 print workshops offer a fresh take on traditional printmaking, mixing experimental attitudes and processes with opportunities to integrate digital technologies. Screen printing, relief, intaglio, monoprinting, bookmaking, mokuhanga and lithography may be explored. Beginning printmakers build their skills, while established printmakers broaden their knowledge through new processes, challenges and critical feedback. skill Printmaking All necessary materials are available, including both oil- and water-based inks. Workshops also have computer access with Adobe software, wi-fi, printing, scanning, and projection capabilities. Students have access to large individual work tables, wall space, palettes, rags and hand and power tools. LEVEL I Students have very limited experience or none at all. Classes usually start with a full day of basic instruction. I LEVEL II Students have a basic understanding of press operation, tools common to printmaking, paper preparation and basic principles of registration. II LEVEL III Students have significant experience in the print medium that is the subject of the workshop. III LEVEL IV Students have advanced skill and knowledge of printmaking. Students are highly motivated and self-directed, have a minimum of five years experience in their field and have produced multiple bodies of work.
