Forget what you know about
landscape photography. This workshop
explores ways of deconstructing space and
viewpoint. Using multiple images, students
break apart the view before them to create their
own gestalt version in its place. The focus is on
creating new work in large format through a
variety of exciting techniques. The focus is on
a lo-fi approach to photography. Students are
introduced to alternative imaging methods and
how to interpret the scene in front of them in
fresh, innovative ways. The workshop explores
everything from polaroid manipulations and
cyanotype printing to creating works of art
using a photocopier.
MEDIA
& TECHNIQUES Students
use digital cameras and Adobe Lightroom
to import, edit and print images. Polaroid,
Pinhole, Cyanotype, photo copier and transfer
techniques are included in the instruction as
well.
ACTIVITIES
The week is divided between
field trips to capture new material, studio
time and group discussions. Daily lectures,
demonstrations and lots of hands-on studio
work provide students with the opportunity to
advance their skills.
