join us out here Nature Themed Birthday Parties Have a unique birthday experience at Heller Nature Center or Rosewood Beach! Hunt for insects, roast marshmallows around a campfire, and more! Each season brings exciting new discoveries. Choose from one of several age-appropriate themes. Parties are an hour and a half, and include 30 minutes for the host to lead party activities on their own. Parties have a 15-20 child maximum depending on the theme. See page 88 for more detailed rentals information. PARTIES AT HELLER PARTIES AT ROSEWOOD BEACH Trail Tales | Ages 4-6; offered year round A naturalist reads a story along the trail while playing games, singing songs and imitating animal movements. Beach Detectives | Ages 4-9; offered year round Children follow clues along the beach and ravine to discover the hidden treasures of Rosewood. The naturalist incorporates games, activities and puppets in sharing the secrets of the natural world. Fairies, Gnomes and Trolls | Ages 4-8; offered year round Hike the trails and you may see a troll or fairy along the way. Children play games, go on a hunt for signs of magic and make a home for our fairy, gnome or troll friends. Luau at the Beach | Ages 6-9; offered year round Make leis, build and sail warrior boats, learn to hula and more! Insects | Ages 5-7; offered May – October Learn what makes insects special by playing games and looking for insects under logs or in the prairie. Pirate Party | Ages 6-9; offered year round Make pirate hats and discover natural treasures of the beachfront with interactive games and activities. Nature Scavenger Hunt | Ages 5-7; offered year round Follow clues along the trails to discover the hidden treasures of Heller. Through games, activities and puppets children are engaged learning the secrets of the natural world. Treasure Hunters | Ages 6-10; offered year round Dig in and search for treasures of the beach. Children excavate different types of rock, fossils and minerals. The naturalist helps identify and clean their found treasures for children to take home. ...and more! Adventure Skills | Ages 8-12; offered April – November Participants try to shoot a bow and arrow, use one match to build a fire or use a GPS to find treasures in the forest. Crate Stacking | Ages 10+; offered year round Crate stacking is a game. The objective is to stack as many upside-down plastic milk crates as possible and stand on the top. Stackers rest their feet in the handle holes of the milk crates, and the challenge is to place the next crate and transfer footings without losing balance and blowing the stack.
