Family and Adult Programs
If you think you've mastered the basics of archery, come back
and show off your skills. We will play a variety of archery games
in competitive fashion. Pair up with a family member or seek
out an equally skilled archer to shoot your way to three in a row
in tic-tac-toe or be the first to pop your balloons. All equipment
and instruction provided. Min/Max is 6/12.

Spend a tranquil summer afternoon paddling the beautiful
Skokie Lagoons! Heller naturalists provide everything needed

Photo Scavenger Hunt | All Ages
See the hidden nooks of Heller Nature Center that you
overlooked before. This epic scavenger hunt will challenge you
to hunt for specific locations with your family while making
memories and taking silly photos. Each family will leave with a
surprise! Min/Max is 6/24.

Honey Harvest Demo | Ages 8-Adult
Our honey bees have been working all summer making our
famous Heller Honey. Come and experience how to harvest our
honey with one of our naturalists. Learn all about honey bees,
visit the apiary, extract honey from our bee boxes and then
take home a small jar (one per family). All participants must wear
closed shoes and tall socks to visit the hives. Min/Max is 6/15.

Kids Program
Busy Bee Week| Ages 8-12
Spend a week buzzing through various Science, Technology,
Engineering and Art activities centered around bees and
ecological stewardship. Engage with live bees daily and explore
what makes these little insects so important.

Summer Astronomy | All Ages*
See Saturn and the Moon through our telescope or bring
a blanket to lay on the grass and view the stars! If weather
is cloudy, we will provide an indoor program. *Everyone is
welcome, but content is appropriate for adults and children
over the age of six. No pre-registration required.
