The beautiful Napa River offers a wide variety of recreation opportunities for the community to enjoy. The river can be
enjoyed by fishing along the banks, kayaking or stand up paddle (SUP) boarding, enjoying a gondola tour, joining an
Audubon Society educational experience or catching a ride on a motorized river cruise.
Boat and Kayak Launches
Did you know about the other boat and kayak launches within the
City of Napa? In addition to the Main Street Boat Dock, there
are four other public boating access options along the Napa River
including:
Get On The Water
• Jim Hench Memorial Kayak Launch, non-motorized craft
only, located in Oxbow Commons below the
1st Street bridge
• Kennedy Park Boat Launch, motorized and non-motorized
access
• Riverside Park Boat Launch, motorized and non-motorized
access.
• Trancas Crossing Boat Launch, non-motorized only
Main Street Boat Dock
In October 2013, the City of Napa opened the City’s newest boat
dock, located at the Riverfront on Main Street between 3rd and
5th Street downtown. The floating concrete dock is 176’ long and
10’ wide. It is intended to serve as a public and commercial hub of
operations to enhance access to the Napa River. For the past two
years, Tideline Marine Group has been managing all commercial
activities at the Main Street Boat Dock and serves as the City of
Napa’s representative to issue public use permits for three or more
hours. Tideline Marine Group has a seasonal kiosk located on the
Riverfront promenade just above the Main Street Boat Dock. The
kiosk serves as a customer contact point and provides information
about recreational opportunities along the river.
You can take advantage of getting on the river at the Main Street
Boat Dock by experiencing one of the following vendor’s offerings:
• Enjoy Napa Valley – Rentals and guided kayak tours
• Napa Valley Paddle - Rentals and guided kayak & SUP tours
If not on kayak or paddle board, try one of these other
