Leader in Training
The City of Napa Parks & Recreation Services (NPRS) Department offers a creative and fun Leader in Training program designed to mold
young teens into leaders. The Napa City Summer Camp staff is looking for individuals 13-15 who are interested in developing leadership
skills while learning what it takes to be a great leader and Camp Counselor at our 2019 Summer Camp Programs (Camp Napa, & Camp
Great Outdoors).
The LIT program is a great introduction to what it takes to be a camp counselor! This hands-on leadership training program gives teens
the opportunity to prepare for future employment through an interview process to strengthen their skills, experience working with youth,
training opportunities, and a chance to serve in leading roles throughout the day in camp.
NPRS’s goal is for our LITS to make friends, learn leadership skills, and enjoy a summer with NPRS Camps! When it comes time to apply
as a camp counselor, our LITs definitely have a leg up on other applicants.
Application/Selection Process: Camp Napa LIT Sessions and Pricing
•Please fill out the 2019 LIT Application and return it to the Napa
Parks & Recreation department by Friday, May 8, 2019 Program runs for 6
weeks. Two week sessions
available from June 24
through August 2, 2019.
• Applicants will then be scheduled for a mandatory LIT interview
and training on either Saturday, May 18, 9am-12pm or Monday,
May 20, 5:00pm-8:00pm.
• After interviews have been completed, accepted applicants will
have to attend a mandatory training on Wednesday, June 19,
2019. Program fees are due after an applicant has been accepted
into the program.
