CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.9-10.1: Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to
support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn
from the text.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.9-10.3: Analyze how the author unfolds an analysis or
series of ideas or events, including the order in which the points are made,
how they are introduced and developed, and the connections that are drawn
between them.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.9-10.7: Analyze various accounts of a subject told in
different mediums (e.g., a person's life story in both print and multimedia),
determining which details are emphasized in each account.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.2: Determine a theme or central idea of a text and
analyze in detail its development over the course of the text, including how it
emerges and is shaped and refined by specific details; provide an objective
summary of the text.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.6: Analyze a particular point of view or cultural
experience reflected in a work of literature from outside the United States,
drawing on a wide reading of world literature.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.9-10.2: Determine a central idea of a text and analyze its
development over the course of the text, including how it emerges and is
shaped and refined by specific details; provide an objective summary of the
text.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.4: Determine the meaning of words and phrases
as they are used in the text, including figurative and connotative meanings;
analyze the cumulative impact of specific word choices on meaning and tone
(e.g., how the language evokes a sense of time and place; how it sets a formal
or informal tone).

space design that transforms the perception and experience of a particular
place.
VA:Cr2.3.HSIII: Demonstrate in works of art or design how visual and material

VA:Cr3.1.HSI: Apply relevant criteria from traditional and contemporary
cultural contexts to examine, reflect on, and plan revisions for works of art and
design in progress.
VA:Cr3.1.HSII: Engage in constructive critique with peers, then reflect on, re-

artistic vision.

that follows from or supports the argument presented.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.WHST.9-10.2.B: Develop the topic with well-chosen,
relevant, and sufficient facts, extended definitions, concrete details,
quotations, or other information and examples appropriate to the audience's
knowledge of the topic.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.WHST.9-10.2.D: Use precise language and domain-specific
vocabulary to manage the complexity of the topic and convey a style
appropriate to the discipline and context as well as to the expertise of likely
readers.
