You can choose to study three
or four A Levels. To study four
A Levels you will need a GCSE
point score of 6.7 or above
(mainly 7s with some 6s). To
study a mixed programme of
A Levels and BTECs, you need
a GCSE point score of 5.7 or
above (mainly 6s and some 5s).
If you get a point score of 6.8 or
above you may be eligible for the
HE* Programme (read more on
page 28).
The table below shows details
of the standard College entry
requirements. Subject specific
requirements may apply and can
be found on the separate entry
requirements leaflet. If you wish
to progress onto an Advanced
BTEC course, a Merit is expected
in your BTEC at school, along with
5 grade 4s at GCSE. If you wish to
combine BTECs with A Levels you
need to achieve a minimum GCSE
score of 5.7.

The main difference between
these courses is that A Levels are
assessed through examinations,
with some providing coursework
modules, whilst BTEC courses are
mainly coursework based with
some practical assessments or
work experience.

programme of study at your
interview and again at enrolment.
