A Level 110 WHAT IS BUSINESS STUDIES? WHAT NEXT? Business A Level lifts the lid on business organisations and investigates what makes them tick. Functions such as marketing, human resources, product development and finance all have to work closely together in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the business. As well as what goes on inside the business, you will also look at influences outside of the business that affect it, such as the economy or big changes to the market such as Brexit. Business students find that there are a huge range of opportunities for them, whether this is through a traditional university route, where you may want to specialise in a particular area of business, or through an apprenticeship route (with a company like BAE Systems). You might consider employment, or even developing that fantastic idea you had in the first term of your studies! WHAT WILL YOU STUDY? “ I chose Newman because I felt like it was the best place to help me for my future. I have really enjoyed the lessons as we are always learning something new. I think it’s important not to rush your decision about College and don’t just pick what your friends are doing.” Alex Hobin SCHOOL: Brownedge St Mary’s SUBJECTS: A Levels in Business Studies, Accounting and Graphic COMMUNICATIONS In your first year you will get a thorough grounding in what it takes to set up and run a business, the types of business organisations there are and learn about marketing and production.
