in July 2018. Construction of the five-story South Tower,

MD Anderson
In 2018, MD Anderson, part of the University of Texas
system, finished constructing a $110 million, 200,000-square-
foot, full-service outpatient cancer center at the UTMB League
City campus. The world-renowned cancer treatment center is
expected to open its League City location in September 2018,
marking the first-ever clinical collaboration between the sister
institutions.
Staff at the League City location will include three medical
oncologists, six surgical oncologists, two radiation oncologists
and a professor in pain medicine.
Memorial Hermann
Memorial Hermann also expanded in the League City area,
with a Convenient Care Center opening in early 2018 along
the south boundary of Pinnacle Park at Interstate 45 and Big
League Dreams Parkway.
The 47,000-square-foot facility is the largest of its kind
for Memorial Hermann and offers a free-standing 24-hour
emergency facility as well as providing a highly coordinated
access to adult and pediatric primary care through Memorial
Hermann Medical Group, specialty physicians, sports medicine
and rehabilitation, on-site imaging and lab services, a breast
center and physical therapy.
Patients that require a higher level of care than the
Convenient Care Center can provide can be transferred to
the Memorial Hermann Southeast, Memorial Hermann-Texas
Medical Center or Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.
