CARNIVAL SEASON
Starting in January, Carnival is a time to celebrate culture and family. Carnival is fi lled with parades, balls, and
other celebrations leading up to Mardi Gras, which is French for “Fat Tuesday”. The 2019 MTC falls during

FRENCH QUARTER
One of New Orleans’ oldest and most historic neighborhoods, the French Quarter offers sites and sounds
unique to the Creole culture. Enjoy the music, food & fun, only a little over a mile from the convention center.

The following awards will be presented at the Awards
Luncheon:
AMTA will be presenting the following awards during the
Awards Luncheon on Wednesday:
The Robert O. Vernon Operator of the Year Award
recognizes the contribution to water supply improvement by
a plant operator at a filtration, desalination, or water reuse
facility. • AMTA/ADC Fellowships
The Membrane Facility of the Year Award recognizes an
outstanding water/wastewater facility that incorporates
membrane technology, high efficiency, and environmental
consciousness. • AMTA/USBR Fellowships
The Membrane Exhibit of the Year Award is presented to the
organization that best highlights the importance of membrane
technology with an exhibit booth at MTC.
The 2019 MTC Best Paper Presentation & Poster
Presentation Awards will be presented at the closing
session ceremony on Thursday.

• AMTA/NWRI Fellowships
• Ian C. Watson Fellowship
AMTA will be presenting the following awards during the
AMTA Membership Meeting on Wednesday, 6:15 p.m.,
at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel, Compass Room.
