The house was situated in the sequestered spot. We parked and decided to look around.

The house was not the way the woman told it at all. The abandoned house stood lonely and isolated. There was not a single house within view. The front yard was full of garbage and yesteryear leaves all over the place. The backyard did not look any better, it was bushy and untidy as well. An old rusty bike rolled in the mud. An ancient cracked bed was also thrown out as well as some broken wooden chairs. I felt low like I bought sight unseen. The bricks were crumbling in places. There were no glasses in the windows. We stood speechless and looked wonder- struck. The view was such unbelievable and mind-blowing when we compared it to the landlady’s description.

I thought despairingly but could not understand why the woman had told me a lie. She probably wanted to play a joke on me and my friends but it was beyond a joke. We were standing in a dark mood in front of the house. I was trying to call the landlady but nobody picked up the phone. Jimmy advised me to come back to the city for refunding the money.

Suddenly the dark clouds covered the sky and driving rain started. It was getting darker and colder. We needed to get warm. The front door was nailed up with two planks. Fortunately, I found an axe left nearby but nevertheless it took a long time to open the door. What is more, the door was so swollen we had to push hard to get in. At last we succeeded soaking wet.

We cautiously entered the room. I looked around in the half-light. The room was almost empty except several mattresses laid against the wall. I took a pocket torch out and held the light all around. We keep standing still and watched in silence with a certain anxiety.
