However, the creatures were busy around, making her loneliness even more unbearable. Thank God that now Aurora had the gold watch to play with, which was the only joy that she could experience these days.
There was something else strange on the planet: Aurora was the only one who could tell the time. All the clocks looked weird and they were not working properly. They were always skipping one hour. They would always show 6 p.m. after 4 p.m.
Every night Aurora put the gold watch on her bedside table before she went to sleep. One night she was dreaming. She was playing with the watch when she heard a voice which said :
“You don’t belong here. The evil powers took you away from your parents and siblings and brought you to this planet when you were just a toddler. You must come back to the Earth. The gold watch is the only thing which will help you to do this”.
Aurora couldn’t believe what she heard. She had always known in the bottom of her heart that there was something very wrong with her. The voice continued, “When the gold watch shows 5 sharp, it will be the time for you to return to the Earth”.
The next morning Aurora woke up and remembered her dream. She felt relieved and reached for the gold watch… but it wasn’t there. She looked everywhere around her, she looked on the floor. She panicked, she felt cold sweat dripping from her forehead. The watch WAS NOT HERE!
