It was freezing cold winter. In high mountains there was a tiny house. The house was wooden and small, but infinitely cozy. Because of Christmas time the house was decorated with garlands and in front of the dwelling there was a stunningly decorated Christmas tree. There were so many lights that you could notice the house from a long distance. The tasty smell of freshly cooked cookies run out from the kitchen. All the rooms were decorated with the most beautiful Christmas decorations except one…

In this house there lived a family: dad, mom and their twins Tom and David. Being twins, they were very different. One of them, whose name was Tom, loved Christmas, but David didn’t. Tom liked wearing a red sweater, red pants and a white hat. He was always in good mood, used to help his parents and really liked Christmas. David was completely different. He would always wear dark clothes, didn’t believe in miracles and hated Christmas. He didn’t like everyone who was happy around him. David hated the holiday so much, that he’d never decorated his room or the Christmas tree.

Not far away from the mountains there was a village named MerryLand. In the centre of MerryLand there was a large tree for Christmas, but not decorated yet. All villagers used to come together in unity and decorate it before Christmas. Only every year the Christmas tree top star was put on by a different family’s kids. This year it was David and Tom family’s turn, but Tom got sick, so David had to put the star alone! He wasn’t happy about this and David tried to escape doing this.
