went to sleep hoping that rain would finally end and tomorrow we could go for a walk in the theme park. In the morning the rain had not expired. Shortly my wife noticed that the river Themes started to swell.

“Hey , look through the window the river starts to swell!”, she shouted.

“Really?”, I asked.

“Yes , maybe we should turn on radio or TV? Perhaps anyone knows and tells what’s happening?”

The news’ anchors on different channels tried to calm people by saying that the rain would finally stop and everything would get back to normal. In the afternoon electricity in the whole town disappeared and that caused panic. We thought that it happened because of wind. I said:

“I will go to look around.”

But my brother disagreed:

No. I’ll go with you I know this house better than anyone else.”

We were arguing until I yield to him. When we got to the first floor we saw that the whole first floor was underwater. On the radio we heard that water level was getting down but we all saw that it wasn't true. Luckily, we still had a mobile connection. We got a few messages with information to keep calm and try to stay in the place we were. My brother started calling to the airport to book the flight tickets back to Lithuania, but no one answered. He decided to reach the airport alone, leaving us almost hopeless. At the time we didn’t know that our native country was totally flooded too.
