2019 GSSNE CAMP GUIDE 2019 Camp Guide FINAL pdf | Page 9
Camp means something different to every girl, but we
can say with confidence that Girl Scout Camp will be both
meaningful and memorable. Our camps offer programs
that are an integral part of the Girl Scout Leadership
Experience. 7:00 p.m. at Camp Rocky Farm, and 7:30 p.m. at all other
Day Camps. If your camper is not attending the Thursday
Late Night option, please pick-up at your Day Camp at
4:00 p.m. (bus transportation will not be available on
Thursday afternoon).
Our Day Camps typically run Monday through Friday
and provide girls entering grades 1-12 a safe and caring
environment where they can try new experiences, meet
friends and explore the outdoors. Best of all—activities
are girl-led, meaning campers help choose their camp
adventure. Learn about wildlife with nature activities, cool
off with water games, practice archery skills—camp fun is
never in short supply! Girls entering grades 6 and up have
the opportunity to earn leadership awards in programs like
Program Aide Training and through completion of Program
Aide, BuddyUp and Waterways Apprenticeships. Read on
to learn more about each of our awesome camps! EXTENDED DAY CAMP AT GREEN FOREST: This
summer, for an additional $15.00 fee, Camp Green Forest
campers can stay until 5:30 p.m. and be picked up on site
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please be sure
to select this option during registration.
THURSDAY LATE NIGHTS: Did you know you can stay
late on Thursday evenings at all of our Day Camps? If you
don’t want the fun of Day Camp to end, stay late with us
on Thursdays for campfires, s’mores, games, and much
more! Late night programming ends at 7:00 p.m. at Camp
Rocky Farm, and 7:30 p.m. at all other Day Camps. A late
night evening bus run will be available—the afternoon bus
will not run. If your camper is attending the Thursday Late
Night option and not taking the bus, on-site pick-up is at
TRANSPORTATION: Take the Bus!
The camp experience begins with songs, laughter,
and meeting new friends on the bus ride to camp.
Bus transportation is included with every Day Camp
registration and you can select your preferred bus stop!
Due to requests received by several local towns, we
require that campers at Camp Promising Acres (with the
exception of early drop-off/late pick-up campers) take
the bus to and from camp each day. Bus transportation is
optional for Camp Cookie, Camp Green Forest, and Camp
Rocky Farm. Important note: Due to normal morning
and afternoon traffic delays, our buses are occasionally
delayed! Please plan to be available for a 30-minute
window during both your bus stop drop-off and pick-up
times. Any adult picking up a camper will be required to
show photo ID.
EARLY DROP OFF AND LATE PICK UP AVAILABLE AT
CAMP PROMISING ACRES: We know working families can use
some help with early drop off and late pick up hours! This summer for an
additional $30.00 fee, Camp Promising Acres campers can arrive as early
as 7:30 a.m. for drop off and can stay until 5:30 p.m. for on-site pick up.
Please be sure to select this option during registration.
