The Social Services Department operates three divisions: Human Services, Senior Services and Adult Care. Human Services provides medical care and emergency rent/utility assistance for low-income adults. Many services are health-related, including medical assistance, prescription assistance, emergency dental care, wheelchair/ walker loans and help completing Social Security disability applications. State mandated services include the Health Care Responsibility Act, Medicaid Nursing Home and Hospitalization, Indigent Cremation and/or burial and the Healthy Kids Program (Florida Kidcare). Emergency food is available through a local food pantry, the Flagler Resource Center. Human Services can provide emergency assistance to help pay a first month’s rent, past due rent or utilities.
