Key Areas 2019 of Impact INVESTING IN OUR FUTURE LEADERS At the Jaguars Foundation, we strongly believe in investing in our youth who will one day lead our community. An education is the single most important tool we can give a child. Education has the power to change lives, break cycles and empower communities. Through our Honor Rows program, the Shad Khan and Harry Frisch Scholarship program and our partnership with City Year, we focus on promoting the importance of hard work, discipline and good character and offer scholarship opportunities to those who are exemplary in these areas. THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAY SERVING OUR MILITARY AND VETERANS COMMUNITY Introducing the benefits of exercise to young kids is key to building healthy habits for their future. This is becoming increasingly import- ant as outdoor play competes with screen time and childhood obesity is on the rise. NFL Play 60 is now a program in 70 area schools with the goal of encouraging kids to be active for at least 60 minutes a day. The program impacts more than 8,000 sixth-grade students annually. The Jaguars are honored to play a part in supporting the thousands of military and vet- erans in our community through a significant partnership with The City of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Veterans Resource and Reintegration Center at City Hall. In 2014, the Jaguars made a $1 million contribution over a five-year period to help provide financial assistance, employment opportunities, life skills classes, health services, and transition- al housing assistance, which impacts more than 11,000 veterans annually. ENRICHING THE LIVES OF FAMILIES AND NEIGHBORHOODS A strong family starts with a strong home. Research shows that a strong home and neighborhood provides the basis for better education and health outcomes in children. The Jaguars believe every family deserves a place to call home and feel safe. With the launch of the “One Team. One Home.” initia- tive in partnership with TIAA Bank in 2018, the Jaguars and TIAA Bank each agreed to contribute $1 million over the next five years to help build and repair 100 homes in north- east Florida. To commemorate our 25th sea- son in 2019, we are committed to completing 25 homes for 25 families. WOMENS HEALTH The Jaguars Foundation helps meet the needs of women in our community by supporting the work of organizations like the DONNA Foundation to help fight breast cancer, the Hubbard House to offer support services to victims of domestic violence, and Rethreaded, to employ and give renewed hope to survivors of human trafficking. 25th SEASON EDITION PROMOTING THE SPORT Jaguars PREP was established in 2019 with the vision of giving kids access to learning the fundamentals of football using the NFL’s top resources and support. Through youth football camps, tournaments, flag football and other programs under the Jaguars PREP umbrella, the Jaguars bring the game of foot- ball to thousands of fans in Jacksonville and London in an effort to keep kids active and healthy, while promoting proper technique, teamwork and sportsmanship for players of all ages and skill levels.
