Advice for the Office of Communications Coordinator

Campaign Tips:

Before coming to convention, have a short elevator pitch ready. Pick one or two plans you have and one or two experiences you have had that would make you good at your desired role. When campaigning, you will meet lots of new people and it will be really helpful to be able to give someone a run-down of your campaign in 30 seconds.

Advice for Prospective Officers:

Running for office and being on the national board are both great experiences. Win or lose, you will meet amazing people and have fun campaigning. I really encourage you to run! It is a lot of work but totally worth it.

The most important thing to know as a prospective candidate for your office:

This job is a lot of work. Be prepared to spend the most time judging the website contest and providing feedback to webmasters. A great thing, though, about the role of Coco is that it’s very vague, so you can be creative! Anything you think would help communication through JCL or would support local and state webmasters and secretaries is fair game, so there are many opportunities. I can’t wait to see what future Coco’s do!
