SAMHSA’S SUICIDE PREVENTION RESOURCES AT A GLANCE National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 24/7 free and confidential support across the United States for people in distress, offering prevention and crisis resources and best practices for professionals. Suicide Safe Mobile App: A free mobile app that helps providers integrate suicide prevention strategies into their practice and address suicide risk among their patients. Mental Health Awareness Month: Focusing On Suicide Prevention Strategies For Our Youth: Blog post by Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use Elinore F. McCance-Katz, M.D., Ph.D., on SAMHSA’s 14th National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC): SAMHSA-funded hub of information and resources for families, friends, coworkers, health providers, and the public, including a database of strategies to prevent suicide and a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention. The Action Alliance seeks to achieve this goal by transforming health systems, supporting community-based efforts, and changing the conversation around suicide.
