resource fair in honor of National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day 2019.
TUCSON, ARIZONA
Beginning in April, the Sewa Uusim Community Partnership (PASCUA
YAQUI TRIBE SYSTEM OF CARE) hosted 28 events celebrating children’s
mental health. Activities ranged from family game nights to a discussion of
teen mental health and substance abuse, a bullying prevention workshop,
a film screening, a 5K run, a resource fair, and a staff training in LGBTQ
issues.
HONOLULU, HAWAII
The KAERU SERVICES of the Hawaii Department of Health’s Child and
Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD), in partnership with local
nonprofit Hawai’i Women in Filmmaking, hosted a number of events
throughout the state, including a screening of short films about mental
health, directed and produced by young women in the community; a
statewide art contest centered on children’s mental health; and local
resource fairs on each island.
