With five different production lines, two automated transplanters, and 2, 32-station stick lines we were able to optimize planting time to meet demand. 2010 2008 1,106,244 sqft In 2012, our Head Grower Joe Moore received the Grower of the Year award. In 2013 we built a Nexus structure with a 20-bay shipping greenhouse for order completion and hanging basket growing space. It also houses an ozone water purification center. 2013 2011 1,171,044 sqft Expansion at our farm location has been a constant process with increasing tarp space each year. In 2015, another project was completed when an additional row of Quonset housing with retractable sides was installed. 796,360 sqft In the next two years, two Nexus Duel Atrium structures went up along with a Nexus connector strip, which joined them to the existing structures. This space serves the dual purpose of growing space for hanging baskets and the charging center for a fleet of golf carts. In 2008, our production breakdown stood at 50% ornamental bedding flats, 40% plugs and propagation, and 10% flowering potted plants. 4 | LUCAS GREENHOUSES 2015 1,055,844 sqft The next project to break ground at Lucas was the Nexus Retractable Roof Greenhouse. This 211,680 sqft greenhouse was composed of 10 bays, each containing an east and a west wing. This space provides optimal quality for growth that only outdoor space can supply, while maintaining the control and protection necessary when weather becomes unpredictable.
