What’s so BIG about BIG
BEGONIAS?
If you want to command attention to your
next landscape planting you must think
Big! The Big series of begonias from
Benary is an interspecies hybrid combining
the best features from several species of
begonias and the result simply dazzles
in the landscape. With their clusters of
large 2 to 3 inch self-cleaning flowers up
to three times larger than traditional wax
begonias, vigorous growth (up to 18 inches
in height while mounding out to over a
foot) and ability to work in both the sun
and partly shaded areas Big Begonias have
become an “it” plant among landscapers
and gardeners. Economical, you can plant
them between 12 to 15 inches apart and
still achieve dense coverage in the garden.
They are also versatile enough to be used
as a filler or focal point in a container or
allow them to show off in a hanging basket
or window box. Enjoy the beauty that is
Big Begonias all the way up until your first
frost.
Plants grown in full sun will develop changes
in foliage color; bronze leaf types will be a
deeper bronze color while green leaf types
will have a reddish-bronze margin around
the leaf edges. To keep begonias looking
good, water early or late in the day to avoid
wetting the foliage.
