to the 2018 Riverside Arts Festival. The Dawson City Arts Society
(DCAS) has once again brought together a talented and diverse range of artists across
modern and traditional mediums.
Government of Yukon is proud to support DCAS and the Riverside Arts Festival and salutes
its enthusiastic and dedicated team of organizers and volunteers as it brings the art out of
the galleries and museums and into the open air and public spaces. An event such as this
is more than just a showcase of northern expression and creativity; it is about the fabric of
a community— to make art not just accessible, but tangible. Locals and visitors alike will
interact with and celebrate art in its many forms, while the workshops, lectures, concerts
and comradery will enlighten and inspire.
This Discovery Day long weekend I invite you to witness Dawson’s waterfront and historic
venues come alive with music, markets, exhibitions and installations. From the established
artist to those who have only to find their muse and medium of expression, the Riv erside
Arts Festival has something for everyone.
