Drop in with expert crafter Freda Roberts and learn how to make a willow dreamcatcher with
feathers or a beaded felt heart.
Tara Kolla-Hale: The Klondike Big Inch Land Co
Fee: none Age: 9+
Playing on the romance of the 1960s cereal giveaway ad success, Tara wants to help you make
your own little piece of the Klondike! Using felts, fabrics, sequins, and found objects you can
create your own ‘Klondike big inch!’
Patty Jackson: Soapstone Carving Using Hand-tools
Fee: $2 to $10 (dependent on size of stone)
Age: 6+
Participants will choose a subject stone and be introduced to hand-carving tools, their applica-
tions and the carving process.
Dieter Weise: Make a Birch Bark Necklace
Fee: $5
Age: 10+
Participants will create their own unique birch bark necklace by using a simple method of tying
prepared strips of bark into a series of variously sized tetrahedron-shaped beads and stringing
them onto a leather cord.
Ilya Treleaven: Ink and Watercolour Illustration
Fee: $3
Age: 12+
Watch as Ilya demonstrates his full process of creating a piece from exploration and sketching
all the way to the final inking and watercolor work. Try your hand at creating your own piece!
Bill Donaldson: Wooden Spoon Carving
Fee: none Age: Parental supervision required for 12 and under
Carve your own wooden spoon from start to finish with Bill, who will give you guidance along
