Out of the Box Architecture Make, Shake & Groove
Maggie Stewart Katherine Bell
6-8YR / 9am-12pm 6-8YR / 1pm-4pm
Design and create buildings of the future
inspired by master architects and wild imaginations!
In this workshop, we compose and build our own 3-D
structures. We explore architecture, construction and
city planning by making paper with found objects, paint,
paper, foil, fabric and, of course, glue. Students design
and construct a cityscape and outdoor environment of
their own inspired by personal approach to pattern, color,
shape and construction. We use techniques such as
stamping, collage, construction, papier-mache, painting,
drawing, weaving and wirework. Join us in thinking
outside of the box and creating our own architecture.

Feel the beat, and become inspired by
sound, rhythm and movement in this musically-motivated
course! Let your creativity flow with the music as we
create our own artful instruments using a variety of
artistic mediums and investigate different patterns and
beats. We sculpt ceramic animal whistles and shakers,
paper mache maracas, decoupaged tin drums, upcycled
wind chimes and more. Musicians from the Aspen Music
School provide inspiration as we learn the properties of
each instrument and what motivates the musicians to
choose them. Tuning our imaginations, we create our
own masterpieces in this fantastically fun course.
FACULTY: Katherine Bell is the Children’s Program
