JRSA - Skateboarding Camp

Designed by professional skateboarder Jordan Richter , our camp curriculum focuses on skill building , goal setting , fun , and camaraderie . Every day , skaters will work through a list of fun and challenging activities , earn badges and move up the levels as their skills grow and confidence soars . This camp is for all levels and No prior experience is needed . We do strongly advise campers to bring their own skateboard , helmet , and pads . Loaner boards and helmets are provided on request but are limited .

3,2,1 ... Blast Off !

Yes we are Rocket Scientists ! And you can be too ! Blast to the top of the class with an in depth look at all things ROCKET ! This action-packed week will focus solely on rockets and the physics of rocket flight . After learning the model rocket safety code , campers will build a number of different rockets and participate in the launching , mission control , propulsion , and finally recovery of the rockets they build . Campers will be divided into three groups : altitude trackers , launch preparation , and launchers . Every camper will have an opportunity to try all three . Camp-Day Themes include : Rocket Scientists , Rocket Flight , Mission Control , Rocket Propulsion & Recovery , Go For Launch .

All camps require an additional lab fee of $ 30 * per camp to be paid to the instructor , this covers all consumables , take homes and a special camp t-shirt .

Mad Science introduces you to the foundations of forensics as you learn aboutorgans , cells , and chemistry ! Discover how the science behind life can help yousolve a crime . Learn the secrets behind batteries and design marshmallowmolecules ! Conduct electricity and power a Mad Science whirligig . Experience blood pumping through the heart and air moving through the lungs . Use ooeygooey ingredients to build a model cell & use your own traits to decode & decipher your DNA . Finally , apply what you learn and apply some crime scene skills to solve a sticky crime ! Camp-Day Themes include : Cell City , The Organ Trail , Scene of the Crime , Chemical Counting , Radical Reactions .

Inventing means curiosity , practicality , necessity , cooperating and dreaming ! Join us as we take students on a historical journey with a hands-on approach learning about some of the worlds . greatest inventors from Leonardo da Vinci to Tesla to Thomas Edison to the Wright Brothers . We challenge our class to use their imaginations and creativity to survive on a deserted island by designing devices to capture food and water , by building bridges , shelters and even a boat to make it off the island . We will put our heads together to imagine the future in space focusing on creating inventions to protect space ships from damaging space rays and designing a safety capsules for payloads returning from space . These are only a few examples . While Thomas Edison said “ invention is 10 % inspiration and 90 % perspiration ”; this camp is 100 % FUN ! Camp-Day Themes include : Rock , Paper , Scissors , Whiz Kids , Shipwrecked , Think Fast , Science Fiction .
