Located directly on the Trans-Canada Highway 17, Ignace
is historically a forestry community that is also a perfect
destination for those who like to play outdoors. Agimak Lake
is located right in town and there are two wonderful public
beaches where you can go swimming and relax for the day. The
Ignace area is also home to many pristine lakes offering fishing
opportunities of all kinds. Some of the best moose hunting in
Sunset Country can be found around Ignace. Camp or spend
the day at beautiful Sandbar Provincial Park.
If you’re looking for travel information stop in at the Ignace
Regional Travel Centre where you can find all the help you
need. Explore nearby Raleigh Falls or wander amongst giant
glacial erratics and see first-hand how a sheet of ice can deposit
20,000 pound rocks across a landscape. You can also pick up
just about any supplies you need in town or grab a bite to eat at
several good restaurants.
