NPW 2018 covered a lot of ground in order to get the prevention
message front and center for SAMHSA’s audiences. Highlights include:
AN ENHANCED PRESENCE
PARTNERSHIP CULTIVATION
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
CREATIVE IMPACT
SAMHSA unveiled a Prevention Action Center at Prevention Day,
drawing audiences in to participate in five different activities.
Nearly 50 NPW partners helped SAMHSA raise awareness and
action around substance misuse prevention and positive mental
health in communities.
The prevention message was carried far and wide by school districts,
nonprofit organizations, police departments, and many more who
made sure their communities knew the facts about opioids, alcohol
and other substance use, and mental illness.
Nearly 700 people contributed to a new “digital mosaic,” which
showed conversations about prevention happening on Twitter and
Instagram.
