This year the popular, Take a Seat chairs were awarded in each of the nineteen AOTE classes and sponsored by Mirage Miniatures, John and Kim Sweatt. So members, please next time you see these folks give them a big “Thank you” for their support. They have helped the AOTE program become a big success, our numbers are growing. Think about helping us in 2019 and sponsor our awards and classes. …..became involved in the late 70s …..1st National was in ‘82 …..Went on a shopping trip for mares, the Mrs. fell in love with a colt. The Mr. said no, but somehow managed to slip the colt of interest into the trailer to surprise his wife on the trip home. …..This colt went on to later become one of the smallest National Grand Champion stallions in our breed’s history. …..That win stimulated a publicity trip to Rome WITH the mini who has been one of the only animals allowed ever in the Vatican. The return trip resulted in a “lost” horse accidentally being misdirected to NY instead of CA by the airlines. …..our recipients are the definition of passion in thought, word, and deed …..puts their money where their mouth is to get in and get things done …..always very involved on committees, boards, local clubs, anywhere, everywhere and anything …..big part of making AMHA history and never stop working for making its future 18 Miniature Horse World WINTER 2018 …..Our association is beyond blessed to have members with this level of dedication and passion and longevity. …..by the way that National Grand Champion Stallion-who has left a major impact on our breed was the great, Shadow Oaks Top Banana. …..which makes our recipients of this years Lifetime Achievement Award Ron and Sami Scheuring I was very honored to be able to present the “A” Award to a couple that I am proud to call my friends.
