or a Superior Event Award. You’ll need to
verify and research your horse’s past wins,
but possibly his 25, 50 or 75 points might
make him eligible for one of these historical
awards! To find out more, contact Val in the
AMHA show department.

E
veryone loves a baby! And it’s easy
to feel that way, especially about the
four-legged kind. This time of the
year, I’ll even risk a honk or two on my way
to work if the new baby calves are romping
down the fence line. I slow down to watch
their escapades, wishing for the thousandth
time I had my camera out and ready at
those opportune moments!
Did you know any AMHA horse is eligible
to be featured in the AMHA calendar or on
the covers of Miniature Horse World? These
spaces are limited and are going fast –email

Accolades for the Honor Roll winners and
the Special Award and Title winners are also
included in this issue starting on page 16.

Until next time,
Some of you were expecting Mini foals, and
you may finally be enjoying a full night’s
sleep, while others have the anxious months
of anticipation still ahead. Foaling mares is
not for the faint of heart. Having experi-
enced a still-born foal myself this year, I
have new found compassion and admira-
tion for those who make it their passion.
So rewarding when things go well, but
catastrophic when they don’t.
With winter over, we can all look forward to
warmer weather, shows, and other pastimes
to pursue with our horses. Again this year,
MHW is showcasing the endeavors of
those enrolled in the AMHA Mini Hours
Program. Awarded in 100, 500 and 1000
hour increments, the diverse doings of each
of these members and their horses are quite
amazing and entertaining. I encourage you
to read all about them and then join the
fun! I might add, each of them has earned
some great prizes along the way.
