Formation of The American Miniature Horse Association
On July 28, 1978, a Certificate of Incorporation was issued by the
State of Texas to The American Miniature Horse Association
as a Texas Non-profit Corporation.
Leon B. Blair was listed as President/Initial Registered Agent. Incorporators were Leon Blair, Michelle Jones (Blair’s daughter), Charles F. Palmer, and B.V. Thompson, Jr.
The first AMHA office was located at 611 Ryan Plaza Drive, Suite 1119, Arlington, Texas.

From then until now the welfare and growth of this breed has rested on the shoulders of its members. Celebrate our 40th year as we near the milestone of registering the 240,000 AMHA horse.
AMHA's Mission Statement:
