2018 Annual Report • 16 ICPI Promotes Industry to Municipalities Throughout Canada In 2018, 17 ICPI members contributed to the Canadian Activities Fund, which sponsored three events: n n n 2018 FCM Paver Reception—June 2, 2018—Economy Shoe Shop, Halifax, NS 2018 Canadian Activities Meeting Sponsorship—Nov 5, 2018, Toronto, ON 2018 Hardscape Live—Jan 8-10, 2019, Toronto, ON In addition, ICPI will host day-long educational events for municipal staff, other government agencies and design professionals servicing these markets in Toronto and Vancouver. Similar previous ICPI events resulted in PICP projects in Quebec City and Ottawa. ICPI continues its Corporate Partnership with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, which has allowed ICPI to promote its technical resources and installer certification program to municipal governments across Canada. ICPI receives recognition as a preferred partner on the FCM website, at their Annual Conference and Tradeshow and in their e-newsletter which reaches over 3,000 municipal governments across Canada. ICPI Presentations Expand Industry Outreach to Designers and Decision Makers Conferences and webinars offer ICPI with an opportunity to promote our industry products and solutions directly to municipal designers and project owners. During 2018, ICPI staff made presentations at the following events: National and International n n n n n n n ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Annual Conference on measuring deflection of open-graded, compacted aggregate bases and on PICP cleaning case studies Federation of Canadian Municipalities on the benefits of segmental concrete pavement systems for municipalities Landscape Architecture Foundation recorded webinar entitled “Performance Potentials for Segmental Concrete Pavements” 12th International Conference on Concrete Block Paving on wheelchair- pavement interaction, measuring open- graded, compacted aggregate bases and PICP cleaning case studies National Road Research Alliance webinar on PICP structural testing and an updated mechanistic structural design method The Building Show in Toronto on “Design and Construction Check List for Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavement” ICON Expo on full-scale load testing of PICP and resulting in an updated mechanistic structural design method
