SHELBYVILLE
The City of Shelbyville was named in honor of Isaac
Shelby, Kentucky Governor and Indian fighter. The
city, located just 33 miles southeast of Indianapolis,
was incorporated in 1850. Shelbyville’s current mayor
is Tom DeBaun.
Shelbyville is located in Addison Township and is
a growing community of nearly 19,200 that has
maintained the friendly “small town” atmosp here.
The city of Shelbyville offers safe neighborhoods,
beautiful parks, unique shops and businesses.
Residents benefit from low taxes, low crime and great
school systems.
Shelbyville Central Schools includes Shelbyville
High School, Shelbyville Middle School, Hendricks
Elementary, Loper Elementary, and Coulston
Elementary. Parochial school, St. Joseph Catholic
School, is located in Shelbyville and offers Preschool
through Grade 5.
FAIRLAND
The town of Fairland was founded in
1852 and incorporated in 1866. Fairland
offers small town living with many big
town conveniences. Located just 15
minutes outside of Indianapolis, Fairland
is a great community with easy access
to Interstate 74.
