It is a privilege to call San Bernardino County home. Our region is blessed in so many ways
and, without a doubt, our people are our biggest asset. Countless kind-hearted individuals work
tirelessly behind the scenes with local nonprofit groups. Each works to change lives, improve
our quality of life and make our communities stronger.
Essential to these charitable endeavors is the Academy for Grassroots Organizations.
AcademyGO! serves a network of more than 1,000 nonprofit professionals and volunteers in
San Bernardino County’s nonprofit community. It is my pleasure to recognize the outstanding
work of AcademyGO! and their leadership in the County.
Over the past few years, AcademyGO! has developed a series of instructional classes for
nonprofit leaders that have helped many to secure major funding for their organizations. The
Fundraising Academy has graduated over 150 nonprofit leaders and more than 145 leaders
have graduated from The Grantwriting Academy.
As you read through this special section, you will have the opportunity to see and appreciate
how our local nonprofits are strengthening our communities by meeting a wide variety of needs.
I extend my sincere thanks to each and every nonprofit agency and volunteer in our County and
