During 2018, the Department provided city-wide training related to the national
Stop the Bleed initiative. The month of March is recognized as “Stop the Bleed”
month with National Stop the Bleed Day occurring on March 31st. Our training
was conducted in direct correlation with these national campaigns and initiatives.
The Department successfully trained 62 City employees over a three day time
period. The Department also purchased and installed 8 public access bleeding
control kits. These kits are strategically placed throughout the city to ensure
readily available access to basic first aid equipment during an emergency.
