Judging System Special Award Ties and Scoring The World Championship Show will use teams of three AMHA carded judges on each panel, all of whom were approved by the Licensed Officials Committee. All three of the judges’ cards/scores will be used to determine class winners. If a tie results, the call judges’ placing will be used to break all ties. If a tie still results from the first call judge’s card, the tabulation moves to the second call judge, then third until all ties have been resolved. In calculating any of the Special Awards (Super Amateur, Best All- Around Horse, High-Point Driving Horse, High-Point Youth Awards), should ties occur, the following procedure will be followed. The first tie breaker will be to determine the horse/exhibitor defeating the most competitors. If a tie still results from this calculation, then the next tie breaker will be to determine which horse/exhibitors must place first through tenth in any eligible class. Should a tie still result, a coin will be tossed by the exhibitors to determine the winner. Three of the judges will be selected to judge all Youth classes, three will judge the Amateur Classes, World Championship Hunter Futurity and some Specialty Classes, and remaining three judges will adjudicate all Open Classes, the World Championship Driving Futurities, and the balance of the Specialty Classes. The Halter Futurity classes will be judged by three judges (two from the Amateur Panel and one from the Open Panel). For computer tabulation horses placing under each judge will receive the following points: 1st place - 10 points 6th place - 5 points 2nd place - 9 points 7th place - 4 points 3rd place - 8 points 8th place - 3 points 4th place - 7 points 9th place - 2 points 5th place - 6 points 10th place - 1 point In scoring all special awards, the following computer point system will be used: Entries in classes with 10 or more entries-first receives 10 points, second receives 9 points, third receives 8 points, etc. Entries in classes with less than 10 entries-first receives the number of points based on the number of entries shown, etc. (Example – class with only seven (7) entries shown – first receives 7 points, second receives 6 points, third receives 5 points, etc.) All classes will be judged once using the computer accumulated tabulation system, mentioned in the paragraph above.
