Even if you haven’t completed (or started!) your Cadette Journey, now is the perfect time to get the low-down on this Highest Award for Girl Scout Cadettes. Adults are encouraged to attend to learn how to best support Cadettes through this exciting project! Come to the Leadership Center at the GSSNE Office to Go for Gold! No matter what stage you are at; if you’re a brand new Senior, or a 12th grade Ambassador, this is a great opportunity to see what’s in store for you if you start the Gold Award journey! Did you know less than 5% of eligible Girl Scouts earn this award? Why not head to this training to discover how to become a part of this elite group of women! Adults are welcome to attend as well. Minimum: 10 | Maximum: 50 Learn the basics of successful hiking and backpacking from seasoned outdoor educators. After an indoor workshop you’ll have lunch and then prepare to “head for the hills” in Hiking 102. You’ll join experienced hikers for a trek on the Paul Bunyan Trail at Camp Hoffman. Test your skills at navigation and preparedness and critical thinking on the trail. Earn 6 miles towards your Marathon in a Month mileage, but you do not have to be registered for Marathon in a Month to participate in this event. Silver Award Training Minimum: 10 | Maximum: 50 Minimum: 10 | Maximum: 35 Girl Scout Week, March 10-16, 2019: Did you know that Girl Scouts turns 107 years old on March 12? What an incredible history of tradition and girls’ leadership! Girl Scout Week is celebrated every March, starting with Girl Scout Sunday and ending with Girl Scout Sabbath on the following Saturday, and it always includes the Girl Scouts’ birthday.
