Fourth Grade Learn About South Dakota

The Fourth Grade class is getting ready for South Dakota's birthday on November 2. The class is preparing by learning more facts about the state, such as the state animal, state bird, and even state insect. The class is also learning multiplication facts, and studying flashcards with multiplication problems. They are also studying the North East region.
The class also got to visit the volunteer firemen for Fire Safety Month. The firemen gave a presentation, and also "smoked up" a Fire Safety House to simulate a real house fire. The students had to crawl their way out.
"Thank you to Mike Jones, Mark Green, Jason Mosterd, Joe Kellen, Jason Witt, and Joel Johnson who took time out of their busy schedules to give these kids a lesson on fire safety!, " said Gaile Sachtjen.
