Cougars Smash Corsica-Stickney Jaguars

The Cougars traveled to Corsica on September 7 to take on the Jaguars, bringing home a 26-22 win.

Brock Karbo led with 95 rushing yards and 138 passing yards. Finn Hanson followed with 94 rushing yards including 1 rushing touchdown and a 2 point conversion.

"What a game! Down 22-0 in the first quarter, and come all the way back to win over a quality opponent, on the road. Our kids simply did not give up. We made defensive adjustments and executed better from the second quarter on," stated head coach, Mike Sebern.

Cougars Can't Match TDA/ACDC

The Cougars lost to the Nighthawks in Lake Andes on September 14, with a final score of 32-40.

Brock Karbo had a total of 90 rushing yards and 33 passing yards scoring 3 touchdowns and 3, 2 point conversions. Finn Hanson had 1 touchdown run, a 2 point conversion, and 9 tackles.

"A difficult way to lose to say the least. All phases struggled at times. We will find out a lot about our team as far as dealing with adversity. I believe we will bounce back and play well the rest of the season," head coach Mike Sebern stated.

Cougars Wipe Out the Tornadoes

The Cougars hosted the Centerville Tornadoes for the homecoming game on September 21, coming out with a 55-6 win.

Brock Karbo led with 53 rushing yards, including one touchdown run. Hunter Van Niewenhuyse led in passing yards with 105, including two touchdown passes. Jaden Frank had 57 receiving yards including one touchdown run and one touchdown reception.

"The team really came out focused on their job! We were able to play everyone, and many players made plays when they had an opportunity. We need to keep working on improving every practice this week," stated head coach, Mike Sebern.
