Cougars Fall Short Against the Colome Cowboys

The Cougars hosted the Colome Cowboys on August 31, falling short with a final score of 12-62.

Brock Karbo had 84 rushing yards, 115 passing yards with 2 touchdown passes. Taron Serr had 1 touchdown reception and 75 receiving yards.

"We played hard, especially in the first half. But offensively we simply failed to execute in the red zone in the second half. Fundamentally we must improve our techniques on both sides of the ball," stated head coach, Mike Sebern.

Cougars Demolish the Gayville-Volin Raiders

The Burke Cougars hosted the Gayville-Volin Raiders on August 24, coming out with a 52-6 win.

Finn Hanson led with 153 rushing yards, 4 touchdown runs, 9 tackles, and 1 fumble recovery.

"We once again started off the game quickly scoring on our first several drives. We were able to keep them off-balance with a couple play-action passes downfield in the first half. Our OL and DL continue to improve," stated head coach, Mike Sebern.

Cougars Roll Over the Scotland Highlanders

The Burke Cougar Football team traveled to Scotland to take on the Highlanders on August 17, bringing home a 55-0 win.

Brock Karbo had a total of 83 passing yards, along with 2 touchdown passes, 2 touchdown runs, and 1 point after touchdown run. Jaden Frank added 28 rushing yards, 1 touchdown reception, 1 point after touchdown reception and one point after touchdown kick.

"This was a great way to start the season. We controlled both line of scrimmages. which allowed us to control the clock. When you rush for 363 yards your offensive line is doing a lot of things right. The defensive line held Scotland to -8 yards of rushing," stated head coach, Mike Sebern.
