During January, the Kindergarten class learned lots in Math and Reading. In Math, the students learned about 2D and 3D shapes, how to create new shapes using other shapes, and how to identify shapes in real life. They also learned to count in 2s, 5s, and 10s. In reading, the class learned about the letter "G", sight words, inferences, and retelling the story.
The First Grade worked hard in January. The class learned about math facts up to 100, arctic animals, vowel teams, and Martin Luther King Jr. The students also got ready for the 100th day of school on January 31. They celebrated with the tradition of making breakfast for both the students and their parents.
The Second Grade class had a fun time with science this month. The class learned about animal life cycles and modeled the metamorphic changes of a butterfly and a frog. The class also learned about fossils and became paleontologists for a day by digging up fossils of their own.
