Cougars Triumph Over the Raiders

The Lady Cougars made the trip to Gayville on January 12 to play the Gayville-Volin Raiders. It was another successful night for the Cougars with the JV winning 21 - 7, and the Varsity winning 51 - 35.

Top scorers for the JV girls were Ramee Hanson with 6 and Bridget Bartling with 5. The team had a total of 17 rebounds. Jasmine Klein contributed 4 rebounds, and Elly Witt contributed 3.

For the Varsity girls, Taylee Indahl was top scorer with 17. Bobbi Jo Wischmann totaled 15 points, and Sally Hakin had 10. Leading rebounders were Bobbi Jo Wischmann and Lahna Matucha with 6 each. The team shot 70% from the free throw line, making 14 out of 20.

Lady Cougars Victorious Over Panthers

The Burke Lady Cougars hosted the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers on January 15. It was a night of victory for the team with C-team, JV, and Varsity winning their games. Scores for C-team were 21 - 17; JV were 41 - 29; and Varsity were 53 - 38.

On the JV team, top scorers were Ramee Hanson with 14 and Bridget Bartling with 9. The team totaled 30 rebounds, 7 of which were from Hanson.

On Varsity, the leading scorers were Taylee Indahl with 19 and Lahna Matucha with 12. There was a total of 21 rebounds, with Indahl and Matucha contributing 5 each. The team shot 59% from the free throw line, making 17 out of 29.

Cougars Fall to the Pirates

The Lady Cougars traveled to Avon on January 22 to face the Pirates. It was a rough night for the Cougars with only the C-team winning and JV and Varsity losing. The scores were C-team: 30 - 16; JV: 18 - 41; and Varsity: 42 - 69.

In the JV, top scorers were Elenna Koenig with 5 and Ramee Hanson with 4. Top rebounder was Adisyn Indahl with a total of 6. The team shot 50% from the free throw line, making 4 out of 8.

Leading scorers on the Varsity team were Sally Hakin with 13 and Bobbi Jo Wischmann with 11. Leading rebounder was Taylee Indahl with 5. The team shot 62% from the free throw line, making 13 out of 21.

Cougars Unable to Snatch Victory

The Lady Cougars had another hard night on January 24. The team hosted the Boyd County Spartans and both JV and Varsity lost. The scores were JV: 19 - 21; and Varsity: 36 - 41.

Leading scorers for the JV were Elly Witt and Elenna Koenig, each with 4. Koenig also lead in rebounds with 4. Ramee Hanson racked up a total of 4 steals for the game.

In Varsity, the top scorers were Taylee Indahl with 13 and Sally Hakin and Lacey Person each with 7. Indahl also totaled 9 rebounds, topped only by Lahna Matucha who had 10.

Cougars Fall to Nighthawks

The Lady Cougars were unable to secure a victory against the Tripp-Delmont/Armor Nighthawks on January 25. The JV were able to sneak by with a victory, but the Varsity were unable to keep up. The scores were JV: 34 - 33 and Varsity: 41 - 71.

Top scorer for JV was Adisyn Indahl who totaled 14. Ramee Hanson was the leading rebounder with a total of five. Elenna Koenig led the team in steals with 4.

Leading scorers for the Varsity were Taylee Indahl with 11, and Sally Hakin with 10. The team shot 61% from the free throw line, making 11 out of 18.
