Third Grade In the Giving Mood

Crazy Crafting For Fourth Grade

Fifth Grade Take a Small Trip

The Third Grade Students got into the spirit of giving before Christmas break. Instead of a gift exchange, Mrs. Frank had the students participate in a Giving Tree Activity. The class read "The Giving Tree" and instead of getting gifts, came up with some "needs." These "needs" could be things like a donation to charity or some new markers needed for the classroom.

The students wrote these "needs" on cards and hung them on the classroom tree. The students or their parents can choose to take one of these cards and give instead of taking.

The Fourth Grade was hard at work during the month of December. The students worked on many crafts to get in the Christmas spirit. The class made poinsettias out of paper, wreaths out of ice cream bucket lids, and ornaments out of crayons. You can see these projects in the hallway of the elementary building.

The Fifth Grade read the book "Hatchet" during the month of December. The book is about the survival journey of a boy named Brian Robeson. He is the only survivor of a small plane crash in the Canadian wilderness.

The students also took a small trip to Kathy Peterson's home. Kathy normally comes to the classroom once a month to read to the students. This month, the students went to her home for Christmas stories, Kathy's trees, and Christmas treats.
